About us

We are Johnna and Rob Zeigler, owners of Oregon Rain Soap company and Oregon Rain Naturals, LLC. We are a family owned and operated local business in the Pacific Northwest, near Portland, Oregon in a rural town called Sherwood. We make high quality, reasonably priced and naturally made products. I’ve been making soap since 1990. Soapmaking has been in my family since the late 1970’s. I was around nine years old when my mom, Elayne, started making soap. My mom and dad made unscented oatmeal soap for all of my upbringing. I had never used scented soaps until I went to college but I had adverse reactions to all the store bought soap. After I graduated college with a teaching degree, I wanted to try making soap for myself. With the help of my parents, they leant me the molds my dad built and taught me how to make soap from my heart. I knew then that I really wanted to make soap and sell it, calling it Oregon Rain Soap. But life continued on and that dream was set aside. I continued to make unscented soap just for my family and friends. It wasn’t until I met my husband Rob that I started adding scent to the soap. He knew how much I loved scents, so he bought me my first essential oil; lavender. Rob helped me make my first lavender batch and it was amazing. Everyone went crazy over it! Rob enjoyed soapmaking with me so we spent many hours researching and experimenting with different scents and herbs. I can honestly say, my husband made my dreams come true because in 2003 we started Oregon Rain Soap! Since then we have expanded into liquid foaming soaps, lotions, candles, lip balms, bath salts, aromatherapy essential oils and sprays. And in 2019 we added Oregon Rain Naturals, LLC to expand our product lines. I hope you feel the love and care we put into all of our products! Soy Candles

Due to the summer heat and low melt points in our soy/coconut blend candles we are putting a hold on selling and shipping them out.  It is out of our control how they are handled once they leave our building.  Check back in September to order our wonderful candles.

Oregon Rain Soy Candles are made with a blend of soy and coconut wax and cotton wicks, making them enviromentally friendly. We make our candles with soy and coconut because it burns cleaner than paraffin candles and it has a terrific scent throw. This great blend of wax melts at a low temperature so the scent and wax doesn't burn off as quickly as paraffin wax. The wax is also water soluble, making it easy to clean up with hot water and soap.
